We set up music for you to play along with or you can just make your own. We will be able to play your
video in time with musicians from all over the world. You will be the soloist in a global band.

Who are we?
|
Christopher
Hedge has been creating his own brand of world music for 25 years. His
focus on collaborating with the sounds and music of the world is based
on respect for the difference in our cultures and on the common ground
we share. The Magnetic Poets are a multimedia performance group that
feature visuals as a natural instrument. Their use of high technology
and their musicianship allow them to capture the "zeitgeist" of the
moment and turn it into a shared experience with their audience.
Together with guest artists, they will be performing nightly in Piazza
Solferino prior to the medal ceremonies (in nearby Piazza Castello) at
the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. The City of Torino estimates up to
250,000 people at the Piazza everyday.
The "ONE" project will turn the focus outward from the stage and from
the band, and will instead provide the opportunity for world artists to
express the Olympic Spirit and speak for themselves.

You are a solo musician, singer, poet, or spoken word artist from anywhere in the world.

What are the guidelines for submission?
|

The
creative guidelines are wide open. We want to see you performing
or speaking on a short quicktime movie that we will mix into the show.
|
|
We encourage you to make an original statement about the unity among artists of the world.
|
|
Feel free to express the Olympic Spirit in your own way. |

How to Submit Your Work
|
|
Submit a 15-30 second piece of your work for possible remixing into any of the nightly live performances.
|
|
We
would especially like to receive your traditional or world music,
and/or words and visuals that carry the essence of your own culture.
|

Our Selection process
|
|
200 submissions will be selected for the performances.
|
|
Your submission must be received before February 20th, 2006.
|
|
These will be chosen by The Magnetic Poets based on originality, integrity, respect and spirit. |

Ways we thank you

Your
work appears at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games - your voice is heard by
an audience of as many as 250,000 people in Torino a day and by many
more via webcast.

Selected clips appear on video screens, are projected on the buildings of the Piazza Solferino and on a giant LED screen.

Your voice or instrument joins with us and many others in a global remix.
|
|
When you participate, your name, picture (if you choose) and a link to your website will appear on the Artist Forum page of this website.

The world can see that you contributed material, whether you are selected or not. |

How your work is protected
|
|
We respect you as an artist and want to include you at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games.
|
|
When you click to send your clip, it is "time-stamped" and protected by the release form with your digital signature.
|
|
The sample that you send us can only be seen by other participating artists.
